Why is my new iPad Pro 5th gen charging slower than my old one?

I have iPad pro 5th Generation 128GB wi-fi + cellular. Try to drop your opinions.

While my old ipad same model was charging from 1% to 80% in just 1hr ( 30 to 45 ) minutes. ( Also while surfing the web )

On the other side my new iPad same model takes about 3 hours to charge from 1% to not even 85%.

I am using the same cable and adapter came with the iPad. Also used other cable that came with iPhone 16pro max and tried to charge in Air Conditioner Room.

Why such difference as i am using the same icloud account same storage.

If you have any concern for the performance of your new iPad, you might be well advised to seek assistance directly from Apple Support - and request a remote diagnostic test. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page.

Alternatively, you can initiate and manage your support cases from Apple devices using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

You might also visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to hands-on test and assess your iPad:

The difference in charging performance that you describe might suggest an aging battery. As a rechargeable battery ages, it loses capacity - and with reduced capacity will hold less charge and will seemingly charge much quicker when charged with the same power source.

As your older and new iPads will inevitably have a different effective capacity, the newer iPad will seeming take longer to achieve the same "reported" level of charge as your older iPad.

Thanks for showing your interest. I would like to ask you that even from day 1 my old iPad was charging fast and maintained the same time range to charge. Also I found out some math.

Time = Battery Capacity ÷ Charging Power

40.88 Wh ÷ 18 W = 2.27 hours = 2 hours 16 minutes

40.88 Wh ÷ 20 W = 2.044 hours = 2 hours 3 minutes

Am I missing something sir ?
