Search function on pages allows only 1 letter

iPhone: search function will let you put in only one alphabet letter and then it scrolls through whatever they want to. search function doesn’t work

The Find feature in Pages v14.4 for iOS enables you to enter individual characters to form a match for what you are seeking. I have a document open that contains the word Aristotle. As I type each lower-case letter of that word, the highlight on Aristotle progresses across the word until there is a full match.
If I tap the 🔍v and select Whole Words and Match Case, then no yellow match will appear for Aristotle until after I have entered every case-sensitive letter of that name.
