Which is the best MacBook Air for work?

I'm looking at getting a macbook for the first time, main usage will be for doing work at home and having the full apple ecosystem

I'll probably play a few basic games, fm24, imperator rome, crusader kings 3 the likes of those, not expecting (m)any issues. for anything more AAA I'll likely stream where possible, using geforce now, amazon luna, xbox gamepass

should be fine, right?

The "best" would depend on your work requirements. Ask your workplace IT Manager what computer would be best for performing your work tasks.

I too have concerns about gaming on a fan-less computer. Even in Mac laptops with two fans, the limited open spaces for airflow in any laptop layout will cause temps to rise with the majority of games, even ons ewith simple graphics.

Streaming anything and video-conferencing are very high-load tasks and will run hot, even with fans.

Current entry-level Macbook Pros have two fans. The Macbook Pros also have more ports, including HDMI for an external monitor.
