AirPods Pro 2 adaptive mode not working properly

Have had repeated issues with my new AirPods Pro 2’s “Adaptive mode”. When it works properly, it will have you in Noise Control mode, i.e. buffering sound, but once it hears speech, will toggle on transparent mode and enable hearing aid features.

My issue is two times now when I have experienced general issues with the AirPods and have done a full reset, the adaptive mode no longer worked. Just the other day, when visiting an Apple Store to deal with ongoing issues with charging, the consultant said “hey, let’s do a full reset”. We did this, and as I was driving home, noticed once again the adaptive function no longer worked. Was going to go back or try phone support, but first decided another reset might help. I did this, and, POOF, function came back.

Any others having this issue?
