Plugging new iPhone 16Pro into 2022 MacBook, iPhone not appearing as a device

Today I bought a new iPhone 16pro, I set it up and went to plug it into my 2022 MacBook Pro (currently on MacOS sequoia 15.5) with the charging lead provided, the phone charges but does not appear as a device, I have tried both charging ports and multiple charging leads, all do the exact same thing, charge the phone but does not have it appearing as a device that I can sync

When you use a new or unknown USB accessory, Thunderbolt accessory, or SD card with your Mac laptop with Apple silicon and macOS Ventura or later.

Is it possible the new iPhone would fall in this category >> " New or unknown " ?

I do not know, as I do not physically cable my iPhone to the computer

Worth a guess ?
