Audio Message bug with iMessage using iCloud between iPhone and Mac
Hi, I'll keep this very brief. Everything is new and s/w is current. Message forwarding is setup on both devices properly. Today I sent an audio message on my phone and it never shows up on my Mac, even if I manually sync the cloud, reboot, etc. I manually synced iCloud on both devices, too. All other messages are there, with one audio message from my friend, but my reply audio message will NOT show up in iMessage on my Mac no matter what I do. It's a bug.
Also, the 'keep audio messages' feature is buggy. For a second you will see "save this message within the next 2 minutes" SCARY warning then it will go away, realizing that you have selected 'keep messages for 30 days' on both devices properly.
Audio messages need refining and improvement. It is also confusing that the #images add-on is not available in some countries. This makes users want to use WhatsApp over iMessage.
On a positive note, dictation is better with iMessage, but keep in mind you have to turn it on in both Mac and iPhone settings or that will appear buggy, too. WHY that setting would not follow over iCloud is ANOTHER miss. I'm not trying to be judgy, but this is all your hardware and ecosystem, so it's quite buggy for iCloud/iMessage with Mac and iPhone. Biggest thing that needs improvement. You just don't have a lot of users sending audio messages in Spanish and English; 99% of folks are using Whatsapp. This is why I'm posting it here because I am trying to get my friend to use iMessage instead of Whatsapp due to the great dictation and semi-good enough translations of messages that is baked in pretty well.
One last gripe, I can't select the text with some new messages on Mac. I have to select out of it and back into it. Again, buggy for something that is all your ecosystem, so wanted to bring to your attention. Let me know if you want me to work for you. Thanks.
