How to reboot iPhone 15 Pro Max to pair Wydex hearing aids

I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max that I am suddenly unable to pair with my Wydex hearing aids, and this is occurring with more than one pair of hearing aids. I have tried deleting the Wydex app and re-installing it, and tried all of the pairing procedures. The aids seem to connect with the phone, but don't actually respond to settings (volume, etc). I get tones that indicate that they SHOULD be responding, but they either are not actually connecting, or are "confused" by the commands. I think that if I can reboot my phone, that might help, but I don't want to lose any data or settings unnecessarily. Any suggestions?

There is a reset like that. You mention attempting to repair the devices, and you say them seem to pair but do not respond to specific commands. Did you try forgetting them in Bluetooth, or do they pair in Accessibility? My Resound pair in Accessibility and do not even show under Bluetooth. I'm not sure I agree it is Bluetooth. It seems they are not communicating with the app by the way you are describing it. Do you have anything else paired by Bluetooth, speakers, headphones, etc.? I'm not sure that a reset will do it, but here goes.

Go to Settings>General>Treansfer or Reset iPhone>Reset>Reset Network Settings. Understand that will also delete your wi-fi passwords, so make sure you have them available to you. I'm surprised the factory, and I'm guessing you are referring to the hearing aid factory, they cannot help. I cannot think of anything else. Good luck.

The volume button method is a Force Restart. See the full instructions here, Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

The operative thing there is to do the volume button presses quickly, then hold the side/power button down until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slide to power off.

If those hearing aids are MFi hearing aids, many of them must be paired in Accessibilty and then connected to their respective app. I know there is a specific order things have to be done for my Resound hearing aids. Check the paperwork for your hearing aids, or if you can't find that, do a search with your browser for their pairing instructions. If yu cannot find them, then contact their support for assistance.

OK. I tried a restart this way, and had already tried another way that Apple suggests (Quickly press each volume button one after the other, then press the side button until the off slider appears. Then turn off the phone, wait about 30 seconds, and turn it on again). No joy! If I do a reset instead of a restart, how much will I lose that needs to be brought back up to date?

I have tried re-pairing the hearing aids multiple times (both pair) and they both respond the same way; they seem to connect and accept changes to the listening mode ie "Universal," "Pure," "TV," but do not accept volume, bass and treble changes, etc. I have tried both the regular off/on restart and the forced restart, and I have been on the phone with the factory with no luck. Since the problem manifests on two different pairs of aids, I think the problem might be in the Bluetooth connection between the aids and the phone. That's why I'm wondering if there is a soft reset (not the "I'm going to wipe this phone clean and sell it" reset) that might help, and what any downside there might be to that.

Thanks for your continued help!

I have not only forgotten the devices in Bluetooth, but virtually disowned them :>). They pair in Accessibility after I forget them in Bluetooth. When I was on the phone with the hearing aid factory, we walked through unpairing and repairing the aids, but it did not work. I think I can pair my phone to my stereo to stream music, so I will try that.

I'll let you know what happens.

Thanks for staying with me.

Well, I tried pairing the iPhone with the stereo, and it worked fine. I also realized that it has been pairing every morning when I take my blood pressure, and transfer the BP reading from the BP monitor to the iPhone. I'm going to hold off on doing the Reset until I get more time with the manufacturer and my audiologist.

Kudos to all that offered help, suggestions, and support, especially ChrisJ4203. You helped me to come to an educated conclusion about where I want to go next.

Thanks Again.
