Searching in Safari redirects me to download the Google search app

This happens very infrequently, maybe once every few days. But sometimes when I do a search from the Safari url bar it will instead redirect me to download the Google Search app in the Apple App Store. When I click the top left corner to go back to Safari it forces the redirect one more time. Only the third time does it take me to Google.com and allow me to try searching again. Is anyone else getting this very frustrating behavior. We’ll see if this strange behavior persists after I cleared my cache just now.
