Apple watch ultra 2 not logging dives

My apple watch ultra 2 skips recording a completed dive, which happened twice so far this season.

It starts its native app when the watch is submerged under water and continues to function as expected throughout. When I exit the water, I follow the instructions on the screen to finish the dive, like "press any button to finish the dive" and clearing the water from the watch.

Then the dive just doesn't appear under activities. It's like it never happened.

All data, water temperature, dive depth etc can be found in health data. It's so irritating to not be able to see all those as workout/dive activity info...
