iPhone overheating and draining battery overnight

I turned off Wi-Fi, cellular data, and Bluetooth and put my iPhone on low power mode before going to bed. The next morning I grabbed my phone it was very hot, and my battery had drained to 40% from 90%. So I checked my battery usage and found that the Instagram app had background activity of 7 hours and drained my battery. i deleted the app. This has never happened before.

The measure of battery health deterioration/drainage is subjective and can vary depending on individual usage patterns. There is no universal standard to determine whether the battery health deterioration/drainage is normal or abnormal because it heavily relies on how the battery is used and maintained.

Battery usage by the app was 65%. The battery health fot this phone is 100%

Check for app and iOS updates, then check with the vendor of the app if the problems persist, as the app is seemingly not responding well to something here.

Running at the margins of power or at the margins of available storage can sometimes expose situations app developers have not foreseen or have not tested, as well.
