How do I restore iPad Home Screen navigation after removing an external USB mouse?

After having connected an external mouse and then removing it from my iPad I am no longer able to flick through screens of icons on my home screen. How do I get it back the way it was before I plugged an external mouse in and then removed it?

Plugging in an external USB mouse changed navigation behavior on my iPad even after removing the external mouse how do I get my iPad to behave like it did before I plugged the mouse in?
