If you are running Sequoia prior to 15.5 do not use the suggested process to erase your settings. It may brick your Mac. Update to 15.5 then you may be OK. This possible issue has been reported by some other users. If you are at a previous level then best to boot into recovery, erase the drive and reinstall the OS but close down before new user activation.
