Changing texture of colored cells in Numbers - other than gradients

Is there a way to introduce texture into colored cells? I recall that from older versions of Numbers. On my 2024 MacBookAir I can only find gradients, but they're insufficient for my puposes.

Hi GeiRenKali,

Yes, my old brain can vaguely remember previous versions of Numbers offering textures as Cell fill.

Testing now in Numbers 14.4 under macOS Sequoia 15.4.1

As far as I can see, we now must insert an image file from outside Numbers. A web search for 'Texture Images Free' shows many websites. I took a screenshot of a texture (because they did say "free") and inserted it into a cell.

Format Panel > Cell > Fill > Image Fill > Choose.

I chose the screenshot from my Desktop.

Please reply with questions.

Regards,

Ian.
