GarageBand hangs while loading at "Updating information about audio unit plug-ins"

I'm using GarageBand 10.4.8 and Monterey OS 12.7.6

I know this question has been asked before, but I have tried all avenues thus far:

• Creating a Guest or new Admin user launch attempt did not work.
• Can't find certain plug-ins others have suggested removing to help this issue
• Starting in SAFE BOOT mode allows the program to launch BUT when I try to play something it says something along the lines of "Graphics cannot be displayed" or something to that effect and then shuts down

HELP PLEASE.
