How to transfer music from old iPod or desktop computer to new iPod?

I bought a new iTouch with bluetooth and want to transfer the music from my old iTouch or from my desktop computer. All my music is stored in iTunes but it will not transfer to my newer iTouch. Is there a way to do it?

The desktop has iTunes which is old and will not transfer the library to the new iTouch.

You should be able to copy (not transfer) music that is in your iTunes Library to an iPod Touch without any problems.

However, if you are using Mac OS 15.4 (Mac OS Sequoia) as suggested by the signature strip in your post, it will not have iTunes. Instead, you use Finder which is already on your Mac. If the iPod is not appearing in Finder, open the Finder menu and go to the General option. In General, make sure that CDs, DVDs and iPods is ticked (checked). It should then appear in Finder's Sidebar.

If you are using iTunes, on an older Mac, or on a Windows 10 (or Windows 11) PC, make sure that your iTunes is up to date. On the day of writing this, my Windows machine says that is iTunes 12.13.7.1. If you are using an older version of Windows, you will not be able to install the latest version of iTunes and that may mean that your iTunes will not communicative with the iPod.

Note that you cannot copy music from one iPod to another. You need to use Finder (or, on older Macs, and on Windows, iTunes).
