How to resolve 'Account Services Unavailable' error for Apple Card payments?

I am trying to make my Apple Card payment, but I'm receiving a "Account Services Unavailable: Apple Pay services are currently unavailable. Please try again later." message. I have updated the software on my iPhone, signed out of iCloud, signed back in, and restarted my phone. How can this issue be resolved? This is my primary every day payment method, so a serious concern.

Currently there is a reported issue for Apple Pay services. Phone is working to the best of my knowledge.

I was having the same issue && updated my software && it’s working fine. Sorry you’re going through this. But that simple thing fixed my problem.
