Can I use an old Mac mini as a music storage device with a Mac mini (M2) and clean up storage?

I want to use my old Mac mini (Intel) as a music storage device in tandem with my main Mac mini (M2) Any advice? I also meed advice on house cleaning the M2 mini. the storage is nearly full with the music files being the largest. Thanks

Another alternative might be to get an external SSD for the M2 Mac mini – and put your Music library on it. Then you would not need to keep the Intel-based Mac mini powered on as much.
