When is the first payment due of my Apple Card?

I opened a new Apple card on April 5 for a computer I purchased for my son.

  • Immediately upon the card opening in my Wallet, it said my first payment was due May 31 and only showed my card balance as the tax amount on the purchase.
  • Today (May 1) I went into my Wallet and it now says 'No Payment Due - You've Paid Your Balance'. I have not made any payment yet.
  • I started poking around in my Wallet where I also see something saying that my first installment payment (1 of 12) was dated for April 30, 2025.
  • When I log into my account on my computer, it says 'Your first payment will be due June 30'.

I am so confused about which date is correct and what amount is due when. I have called support twice, all they can tell me is that I don't appear to be past due, but nobody can explain the references to April 30 (when I have yet to receive a statement), May 31 and June 30 and which is correct. And I was told if I haven't received my statement yet, I should get it on June 1 so the June 30 date makes sense. Can anyone provide any guidance on when their payments started being due based on their purchase date? Thanks.

April 30 was the day your first installment was added (charged) to your account. Each future installment charge will be added the last day of each.

Your installment charged to your account yesterday, April 30, 2025, is due May 31, 2025 no later than 11:59 ET. The installment amount due is added automatically to your minimum payment due. You must pay your minimum payment due each month to keep your account in good standing.

You will pay no interest on your installment plan as long as the minimum payment due is paid each month. You will be charged interest on any statement balance that remains unpaid each month.

How to view and pay Apple Card Monthly Installments - Apple Support

I realize this is confusing and I had not only one but two or three discussions about it with Apple directly. None of them could explain why the first "Monthly Installment" appears on the last day of each month. Finally a more knowledgeable representative explained that "Monthly Installment" is not an indication of payment due. We agreed it should be more accurately shown as a charge posted to your account on that date. This is despite the fact you used the card for the first time on April 5.

As muguy explained that monthly installment payment is not due until the end of the following month.

One would think Apple could have explained it to me the right way the first time.
