Accountsd CPU usage high in macOS Catalina

Thank you. I only unchecked Mail.app because I need Desktop & Documents sync. CPU usage is barely noticeable and memory < 70MB now.

Any updates on this issue after the latest update 10.15.5?

Did not fixed it for me.

I did the 10.15.5 Supplemental update this morning and later this afternoon both mail and accountsd raised to over 200 and 300% cpu and stayed there. So for me it did not solved it.

Hmm I wonder if it’s documents as a fix in 10.15.6.

Discussion of beta test versions is not helpful. The final release of 15.6 may well be different to the beta (unless the beta passed with no errors)

@Peter_watt - yeah... that's the bottom line.

Big Sur no good to Macs before about 2015 though. Whatever Catalina finishes up as is what I will have til my four year old 2012 mbp dies. (best mbp ever)

Update to 10.15.6 took care of the issue.

Update to 10.15.6 fixed the issue. It now can officially be marked as solved. Apple finally fixed. I would love to know what it was that was causing it though that they fixed.

Basically if you don't use your iCloud mail account or calendar or reminders or contacts or any other features in icloud account settings then uncheck them.
